Children Discover the Value of Recycling and Toy Recovery with Dr.playbreaker®

In an effort to educate and entertain the younger generation while promoting sustainable practices, Dr.playbreaker® organized an exciting “Circular Economy in the Toy Sector” workshop on September 9th at the Falla Jose María Haro Poeta Más y Ros in Valencia. Children actively participated in a series of activities designed to teach them about toy production, the use of recycled plastic materials, and the importance of plastic recycling.

The workshop, led by Dr. playbreaker®, focused on toy safety and raising awareness about the need to use responsible raw materials. An essential part of the workshop was dedicated to waste segregation and proper separation into different containers. Emphasis was placed on the relevance of these practices both in the domestic sphere and in everyday life.

One of the most exciting moments was the section on repairing and recycling Playmobil® dolls. Children participated in dismantling and replacing damaged parts using the playbreaker® tool, then deposited the damaged pieces at a clean point for management and recycling. Finally, they reconstructed and repaired the dolls, granting them all the title of “Junior Expert in Circular Economy.” The workshop, therefore, promoted toy collection with the collaboration of the Crecer Jugando Foundation through the “Share and Recycle” campaign.

The event also included assembly and disassembly contests of Playmobil® dolls, where winners received small prizes, thus encouraging competitive spirit and manual dexterity among the young participants. However, all participants took home a token for their participation in the workshop. Participant testimonies underscored the workshop’s success, highlighting the need to educate children about toy manufacturing and the value of recycling. The children not only enjoyed the process but also showed interest and commitment to learning about sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Circular Economy workshop in the toy sector left a lasting impression on the community and laid the groundwork for future generations aware of their surroundings.

Dr.playbreaker® extends gratitude to the collaborating entities for their support in organizing the workshop: Aesclick – Spanish Association of Playmobil Collectors, Crecer Jugando Foundation, and Falla Jose María Haro Poeta Más y Ros.
